Angry Words

Anger is known as an iceberg emotion as there is usually another layer of hidden emotion beneath the surface such as sadness, hurt, frustration etc. I’m learning to not become reactive when I encounter a loved one who is angry. Although it is difficult to have someone express their anger towards you, I think it’s worse if they don’t share their emotions and just shut down. This creates a negative spiral which escalates and many times a relationship can suffer irreparable damage. Being open and honest with your emotions is a great first step. Learning to not react and just hold space is the second. Not letting temporary emotions cause harm or damage to your relationships is the ultimate soul growth. This is how you step into authenticity.
